As part of a "Give a Day, Get a Day" volunteer project, I was asked to collect
300 cloth napkins by June 1st. So far I have
64 napkins sent from Iowa, Ohio, North and South California, Florida, Montana, Nevada, and Ontario, Canada. Please help me collect
236 more from as many states as we can!
My best friend, Annie, started as a Counselor in Training for
Camp Oliver20 years ago and is now the Director. She
is passionate about the kids that come to spend a sleepover week in her
camp. She knows each kid and remembers them each year. She makes sure
they can attend her camp regardless of their ability to pay. My kids
have received camperships the past two years and have loved their
adventures hiking, swimming and catching site of the mermaid in the
pool (never mind the camp is over 50 miles from the ocean :) )
Annie loves the environment and wants the camp to be as green as
possible, so she is switching from paper products to cloth wherever
possible. She knows about my "cavalry" and asked me to put the word out
to collect at least 300 napkins.
I could try to get them donated from one place, but I thought it would
be way more fun to collect napkins donated from around the US/World.
To
make this educational for the campers, we will have the kids track
their napkin on a US or World map. So when you participate, include a
note where you are sending your napkin from. I will label each napkin
with your location.
I am putting the word out to all of you to see how far our reach can go!
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
1. Send at least ONE napkin to:
