Impacted by the E-Trip Rule? Attend April MCCV meeting to find out!
|
Heading the agenda for the April meeting of the Manufacturers Council of the Central Valley will be a detailed presentation on the San Joaquin Valley Air District's recently adopted employer based trip reduction rule (Rule 9410) and the Healthy Air Living program If you have more than 100 employees reporting to a work site between 6 and 10 a.m., your company and that work site may be impacted by the rule and will need to register by July 1, 2010. If you're an environmental manager for your company, please consider forwarding a copy of this notice to personnel/human relations as much of the compliance burden will fall under their area of responsibility. If you don't know whether the rule will impact your facility, attend the meeting to learn more.

a.m. Special Presentation: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. E&J

| Don't Miss Out: Last chance to sign up for 2010 CIM job opportunity booklet |
The Road Show tour bus is parked, students are
completing pre-applications and finishing up Work Keys testing. Now
it's time
for the next step in Careers in Manufacturing 2010: to prepare the CIM
Career
Opportunity Booklet that will be used to show high school seniors the
types of
jobs that may be available after they've graduated (and made it through
the
numerous screening mechanisms set up to ensure employers receive only the
"best of the
best.") The booklet contains examples of the jobs that may be available and the types of positions at your firm which are suitable for 18-year-olds with a high school diploma.
* DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MARCH
19
If
you would like to have an opportunity to compete for a few of these great
candidates, just contact Jan Ennenga by Friday, March 19 either by calling 209.523.0886 or emailing jan@mccv.org
* WHAT TO
LIST
We
are looking for temporary, seasonal jobs as well as ongoing opportunities. You
may also include any intern or scholarship programs you offer. We've had a
phenomenal response at the Road Shows and indications are that once again there
is great young talent signing up for the program and looking for a start in the
manufacturing workplace. Don't miss out!
* HOW THE BOOKLET IS USED
The booklet is distributed to the participating high
school seniors for their review and consideration. Students will be completing a
pre-screening application which will be sent to the employers they have selected
(by the Alliance WorkNet). The employers will then review the pre-apps and
select those students who are eligible for current openings. This information
will be transmitted to AWN, along with company specific procedures for
submitting a formal application, testing or whatever your next steps might be.
You may also choose to interview directly from the pre-application screening
form. AWN can provide assistance to ensure efficient use of your time and
compliance with all company hiring procedures.
