Keep Those Tools Close By

When delivering the MS® Outlook workshop in which I demonstrate some amazing time-saving shortcuts, I'm often asked how I'm able to strikethrough data or attach items so quickly. The answer is the Quick Access Tool Bar. You can see where it's located in the screen grab below. You can place it above or below the Ribbon.
Factory settings that come with your computer usually only show 3-4 icons so spend some time customizing it by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the icons and choosing "More commands". Next, in the "Choose commands from" box, choose "All commands".
The shortcut icons (shown above) that I use the most often are: Save, Strikethrough, Underline, Undo, Redo, Previous Item, Next Item, Attach File, Attach Item (Outlook item), Quick Print.
You can customize the Quick Access Tool Bar within each of the four main components of Outlook: Email, Contacts, Tasks and Calendar.
