Planning Ahead to be Productive

A little planning goes a long way. We've all heard that before. And when it comes to being productive at the office, a little planning at home will help you to focus better at the office.
On Sunday afternoon or evening, bring out your work schedule for the upcoming week as well as your family/personal calendar. Carefully review each day of the coming week, taking note of when you might be traveling, needing to work late or in charge of the car pool. This meeting is best done with all household members present because conversations will take place that involve everyone.
When our children were younger and my husband and I would have our "Weekly Planning Meeting", we had one child who listened intently. He was the child who didn't like surprises in his schedule and always wanted to know well in advance who was picking up whom from what practice or activity. He rested better at night knowing that all of those details were worked out in advance.
The same will apply for you. When you know what's ahead on your calendar or in your schedule, you'll have fewer surprises which means less stress.
