Cell Phone Etiquette

It is considered improper etiquette to place your cell phone on any surface between you and another individual. Examples would be on a person's desk, conference room table, or a table at a restaurant. A cell phone placed between you and another person is a visual reminder that at any moment it might ring or vibrate, interrupting the conversation at hand. In order to keep your focus where it belongs, and communicate that this meeting is important, put your phone away (on Silent) or better yet, don't even bring it to your meeting.
