The team and I at HC studio are looking forward to your next visit to hear all about your summer. As difficult as it is to see the summer come to an end, we are looking forward to welcoming the fall and all the exciting changes it brings. Most notably, this past summer marked the beginning of our ninth year in Brookline Village. As the new sole owner of the studio, I will continue to develop our sense of community by supporting local charities in Brookline, and as always, I am committed to you, our valued client. I am proud to have such an incredibly talented team of stylists whose objective is to provide superior service and artistic excellence. Together, we will continue to preserve the atmosphere of creativity and comfort that the studio is known so well for. We encourage your suggestions on innovative ways we can continue to deliver the "ultimate salon experience".
Please also join me in congratulating Donna Pope as she embarks on a new business venture. After seven wonderful years of her career development at HC studio, Donna will be joining a new concept hair salon called Blow. Donna is a true professional; her talent, kind heart and expertise will take her to great places and it has been my pleasure to work with such a wonderful woman. Although we will all miss her dearly, we share her excitement and invite you to do the same.
The saying "as one door closes, another door opens" is so true. I am very excited to welcome back a familiar face. Jen Tawa is returning to us after a few years at another salon. She brings new experiences to share and her amazing talent, energy and enthusiasm is embraced by us all.
Please join us on Wednesday, August 27th from 7 to 9pm at the studio for a drink and a toast to a new chapter in Donna's life and to welcome Jen.

new artist
Kathryn Mann is currently a second semester junior at Montserrat College of Art and is working towards her masters degree in art therapy. Kathryn has always seen creativity not only as a form of expression but as a means of escape from the everyday noise of the "real world". Since she was a child, Kathryn has used her ability to create art using every day objects and has since continued to develop her talent using several different mediums. Stop by the studio during the months of September and October to see her work! |

Helping a vision come true!
Paul Epstein, co-found of The Foundation To Be Named Later, discovered a passion for working with youth when he became a Big Brother. The experience completely changed the direction of his life and he embarked on a career in social work. After working in residential treatment at The Home for Little Wanderers, where he met his lovely wife, Saskia Grinberg, he earned an MSW from Boston University in 1998. He has worked as a social worker at Brookline High School for 7 years. Currently he is on sabbatical to work on Saskia's and his vision to open the only youth community center in Brookline. A portion of our sales from the months of September and October will be donated to this wonderful cause. Please stay tuned for details! |
focus group
Do you ever feel like your children are being raised in a Hothouse?
HC studio will be hosting a focus group for the very popular, Boston-based website hothousemoms.com in mid October. The topic: How parents can find the balance for children so they are able to meet the competitive challenges of our culture, but also possess the necessary grit, creativity and values to live successfully in the real world. The masterminds behind hothousemoms.com will facilitate the group. Details for the event will be finalized by mid September. Stayed tuned!

The studio hours will be adjusted on the following days:
Friday, August 29th - 9am to 5pm
Monday, September 8th - 11:15am to 5pm
Monday, September 15th - 11:30am to 5pm
Monday, October 6th - 10am to 2pm
Luiz will be out of the studio September 29th through October 14th.
Jen will be returning Tuesday, September 16th and will be working Tuesdays 12 to 8pm and Thursdays 10 to 6pm.
Donna will work with us through Friday, August 29th. Any appointments that have been made with Donna after the 29th will be transferred to her new location. We are currently continuing to book appointments for Donna.
