are on exhibit at hc studio. the works are exciting in their gesture, color and movement, and are inspired from
aparna's time spent in the natural world...
 layers of pastel, collage, inks, charcoal and beeswax create works that are images of botanicals or pods, cocoons and pupa. aparna has included text from an archaic 19th century dictionary as a graphic element.this is not nature as we see it in scientific journals. these works are scintillating, pulsing, full of expression, and according to aparna, these works document the life she experiences in rainforests in south america, meadows in vermont and on islands in the atlantic. |
