That we continually attract the best of the best into our offices and are all able to work with the fantastic people we do is a huge reason we love working at RealTime. This quarter we've added to our team and we welcome some fabulous women into our family.

Dani MorganDanielle Morgan - Summer Intern

Danielle is currently a senior at Central Washington University and will be graduating in the spring of 2012 with a BA in Tourism Management. Prior to Realtime Productions, Danielle worked as an administrative receptionist for the Recreation Department at CWU. Danielle has followed her passion for event planning by organizing local events around her college town including the annual Kiwanis Pond Fishing Derby and Morgan Middle School's 8th Grade Honors Camp.

Personally... "I was born and raised in Sammamish, WA. The most influential person in my life is my mother; everything I am, is because of her continuous love and support for me. I grew up with my mother being the "Hostess with the Most-ess" - from dinner parties to weddings my mom has always had a passion for event planning and that passion was passed on to me. I truly believe in making the most out of life and feel so fortunate to be a part of RTP to continue growing professionally as well as personally."

Christa BarbasChrista Barbas - Event Manager

Christa is a detail-oriented, results-driven Event Manager with over 9 years of total event experience. She brings a diverse event management background including, logistics, ancillary events, registration, transportation, and the highest level of guest services. Prior to joining the RealTime Productions team, Christa was a vital player to the Microsoft CEO Summit core planning team for the past 5 years and helped guide the program to the success it is today. She also brings to RTP an extensive background in planning multi-city road shows, Executive Summits, and high level retreats. She is recognized as a dynamic, professional team leader and team player with a proven track record in all phases of project management. Christa immerses herself in the program from start to finish and communicates her expectations effectively to her team and vendors.

Personally..."I am a Seattle native who enjoys traveling, cooking, shopping, and going to movies with friends. Some of my favorite spots to travel include Greece to visit family and the Caribbean to enjoy the sun. Really wherever the sun is, I usually will try to follow it. When I'm not working, you can probably find me playing with my nieces or nephews and spending time with my family."

 Ceili Rian - Office Administrator

ceili compressedPrior to RealTime Productions, Ceili provided admin support in a number of industries including hospitality, retail, insurance, education, medicine, architecture, computer security, & telecom. Her curious nature propelled her to travel the world and study a wide range of subjects including Expressive Arts Therapy. With over 15 years of administrative experience, Ceili has developed strong organizational and communication skills to contribute to RTP. Ceili volunteers as a cat caregiver at the King County Shelter, socializing confined kitties. As Soldier's Angel she sends care packages & letters to our soldiers in Middle East war zones.

Personally: "I am decidedly a PNW girl! Raised on the West Coast (including Alaska), I call Washington my home. Although I traveled the world, including a year studying architecture in London, I returned to where I was born. When I'm not working I'm usually hanging with my big sis and her grown kids. My extended family is firmly rooted in the area, so we see a lot of each other!  My favorite activities include movies, dinner with friends, reading & keeping my Zuma score up! I'm a secret fan of ...Starbucks mugs (I even have one my nephew brought back from Kuwait)."

On a Roll!

caryl MPI awardJune 2011 was a repeat performance of June 2010 with another surprise honor for our very own Caryl Sutorius, Director of Business Development, as she was nominated for Meeting Professional International's (MPI) prestigious Supplier of the Year award. Being nominated is already an honor, of course. However, due to her dedication to the industry, to the association and to the people in our industry and area, she WON the award as well.

These awards are presented annually to a chapter member in recognition of their outstanding contributions to MPIWSC's Strategic Plan, association/industry/community contributions, leadership and professionalism. Nominees are evaluated on their overall chapter involvement for the year, long-term leadership and service to MPI, professional accomplishments, meeting industry service, MPI International involvement and community involvement

Caryl received the 2011 Supplier of the Year Award at the MPI Annual Celebration Meeting. In her position at RealTime Productions since 2008 and since her first association meeting even prior to that, Caryl has been an extraordinary advocate for the industry and the people it touches. Formerly Vice President of Education and now in her 2nd term as Vice President of Membership for the MPI organization, she tirelessly promotes the benefits of meetings, acts as connector, matching clients with vendors, people with jobs, and wishes with opportunities.

"My reward for MPI has always been constant - to build relationships, to continue to learn the cutting edge trends of our industry and to give back to the association that has helped me grow professionally. When they announced my name as the winner of MPI's Washington State Chapter's Supplier of the Year, I felt extremely touched and honored."

Staff Highlights of Summer 2011

"What has been/will be the highlight activity of your 2011 Summer?"

Lisa Perrone - "I get to go on vacation to Seattle and do Product Fair(seriously dedicated this one!!) I'm enjoying the warm, sunny Southern California weather all summer.  Lots of time with family and friends at the beach, pool and relaxing in my backyard."

Jeanne Berry - "Finally getting to Maui for some summer sunshine!"

Ceili Rian - "Family garage sale...it was a success!! Our houses are all "lighter" and we have a little pocket change. I also just got a new kitty!"

Katina George-Roohi - "Salmon fishing in the Columbia Gorge. Of course Grilled Salmon with Soy Ginger glaze recipe is ready to go and the perfect Chardonnay is chilling!"

Jen Omholt - "Going bird watching in South-Eastern Oregon with Alex- we saw an owl, shore birds, and birds of prey! We only saw 8 people while exploring the refuge, and thankfully rationed our granola bars and water well enough to get us through the day since we did not see a gas station or café for 7 hours! Adventures galore!"

Rebecca Partman - "Looking forward to a 2 week camping trip to the Northern California Redwoods with my family in August. This will be a new adventure with hikes, beach trips, exploring new beach towns along the Pacific Coast and our puppy's first road trip."

Erika Snyder - "One day, 13 hours at Disneyland and California Adventure with good friends."

Kim Pratt - "Highlight for me is always the fun times we have together as a family since the kids don't have school and the weather is typically nicer. We get to go camping, hiking, bike riding and of course gardening in our backyard. Anything that gets us outdoors and moving makes us all happy. In the summer we put a movie screen outside and watch movies by bonfires in the dark. A new addition to our bonfires this year is Smoritos on the bonfire, which is basically marshmallows, peanut butter and chocolate in a tortilla shell wrapped in foil and put on the coals until everything inside is gooey and the shell is a little crunchy. YUMMY!"

Christa Barbas - "My highlight of the 2011 summer is waiting patiently for my new baby nephew and joining the RTP family!"

Caryl Sutorius - "To spend a lot of time with the new love of my life - my  4 month old grandson Alex!"

Oh The Places You Could Go...

 caribbean vacation

It's a little-known, well-kept secret amongst clients at RealTime, but we have been doing it for years. For over a decade, in fact. Yes, we admit it ... we have been planning incredible personal trips and vacations for some of our special clients that are far from run-of-the-mill. Clients started to experience our creativity, benefit from our contacts and our dogged pursuit of unique experiences and now trust us to plan their family & friend trips that create immediate relaxation and fun as well as lifelong memories.

Dreaming of a private yacht vacation? RealTime Productions recently planned a spring time getaway for 2 families aboard a private 120' yacht in the Bahamas and a 2 night stay at the Atlantis Resort Paradise Island.  This was no run-of-the-mill family vacation, it was meticulously planned! Interviewing the captain to ensure he and the staff were the right fit for the families, brokering the yacht deal, selecting the itinerary, creating a trip logo, putting together a trip book with itineraries, daily activities, and themed dinners, and producing amazing welcome aboard gifts for every family member were but a few of the details our team attended to in creating this one-of-a-kind experience.

Our clients were so happy with their trip, the yacht, captain and crew, and all the little surprises we had for them along the way. We can't wait until next year to see what we can plan for them!

Sharing is Caring...

Especially with Wine

By Danielle Morgan

red wineThe RealTime Production team gathered outside of office hours to enjoy some team bonding and wine tasting at Tefft Cellars in Woodinville. Paired with the wine tasting each team member prepared a potluck style dish to bring and nibble on. The team enjoyed some nice wines, red and white, but ultimately this gathering was a time for the newest team members to get to know our veterans and share one of our favorite things. A wonderful night was topped off by an amazing dessert prepared by Kim Pratt and the team parted with full stomachs and new friends.

Fall Into Weddings

autumn wedding rings

While spring and summer have become for many "the season" for weddings, autumn offers a special kind of magic for the prospective bride. With the changing of leaves and bite in the air comes an opportunity to incorporate greater color, drama and character to your wedding theme. Highlighted autumn trends include:

Color: The pastel and jewel tones of previous seasons make way for the warm fall colors in dresses, centerpieces and floral arrangements. The trend for brides to wear colored (rather than white) gowns increases each year. Autumn is the perfect time to consider a rich caramel or chocolate-colored bridal gown. These darker tones are particularly lovely on dark-haired brides or those with pale coloring. Continue the autumn theme by adding red, orange, copper, bronze or sienna to the bridal party palette in clothing, invitations and accessories.

Woodland Flavor: Floral arrangements incorporate more woodland materials, giving even the most formal flowers a rustic touch of personality. An emerging trend of utilizing non-floral elements in arrangements lends beautifully to autumn arrangements. Look for bouquets and floral centerpieces incorporating colored leaves, artfully arranged branches and harvested grain. The woodland theme extends beyond the floral arrangements of course. Brides favoring a Shakespearean touch will find that flower girls transform beautifully into woodland sprites.

Drama: In anticipation of Halloween, many brides are opting to give a dramatic twist to their wedding theme. This is the perfect time of the year to incorporate costume and historic drama into your event; not just for the bridal party but invited guests as well. A bride desiring a more subdued drama, may opt for a dramatic venue, selecting a historic mansion, stage theater or castle for the event. This kind of venue pairs well with the rising trend of Victorian bridal gowns.
