After the concert some of the children from our Program were so inspired they held there own little "jam session" in spite of the fact that they just started learning their instruments.  What does this mean?  The immersion aspect of SoBe Music Institute's Music for Youth Program is working it's magic!

Join us for Open Friday at SoBe Music Institute and performances of Bach, Villa Lobos, Vivaldi and more. paulguitar

Start you Friday evening off with a lively and stimulating performance of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in D in an arrangement for violin, flute, classical guitar and piano performed by our extraordinary faculty members Rebecca Diderrich, Oderlyn Gutiez, Paul Martin and Victor Nikolov.  Follow this with a lovely performance of Siciliana from Bach's Sonata in Eb Major for Flute and Harpsichord by Oderlyn Gutiez and Ariana Ochoa.  And if that is not enough, let us send you off into the evening humming a beautiful rendition of Hector Villa Lobos popular Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by guest vocalist Jennifer Wei (Duke University) accompanied by our own incorrigible Paul Martin.

Music for Youth "Open House"

Please join us for a fun afternoon and witness for yourself our exhilarating Music for Youth Program in action. Let the kids show off what they have learned so far during this summer's program.  Sit-in on group instrument classes as well as theory, musicianship and vocal workshops while in progress.

SoBe Music Institute is operated by Mystery Park Arts Company, Inc., a Not-For-Profit Company (501 (c) (3). Its history as an organization dates back to 1989 when it was organized for "the purpose of promoting cultural diversity and education in the arts.

SoBe Music Institute (Miami's Institute for Performing Arts), began operations in December 2005 as the music educational component of the non-profit arts & education corporation Mystery Park Arts Company, Inc. SoBe Music Institute's Executive Artistic Director is distinguished composer and professor Carson Kievman (Ph.D. Princeton University, MFA California Institute of the Arts, composer-in-residence for the Tanglewood Music festival, the New York Shakespeare Festival, Donaueschingen Festival, NationalTheater Mannheim, the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and the Pennsylvania Ballet, winner of multiple awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and The Florida Department of State, among others).
