SUFFOLK SPCA CALLED TO ASSIST AT POLICE DOG CERTIFICATIONS

 

The Suffolk County SPCA has been called to assist at the US Police K-9 Association dog trials and certifications, which is being sponsored this year by NYPD's K-9 Unit.  SPCA Chief of Department Roy Gross said that teams of SPCA Officers will be on hand to assist SPCA Veterinarians at the events.  If the need arises to treat any of the participating dogs, the SPCA will be standing by to render assistance with its MASH Unit.  The following information will be helpful to anyone who wishes to attend the events:

 

APRIL 26, 27, 2008:
POLICE DOG 1 CERTIFICATION TRIALS
Saturday and Sunday 8:00AM to 4:00PM
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
RAIN or SHINE
NO PETS ALLOWED
Come see Police

K-9 teams compete against each other in various events:
obedience, agility, suspect search, criminal apprehension, article search
