RONKONKOMA MAN CHARGED WITH ANIMAL CRUELTY

 

        On Wednesday,  February 13, 2008 officers of Suffolk County SPCA executed a search warrant at 185 Pawnee Avenue,  Mastic, NY to rescue 2 dogs which were left unattended for more that 36 hours.  The dogs were taken to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter.

            Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA announced that today Investigators of the  Suffolk County SPCA arrested Joseph Fleming of Ronkonkoma, NY in connection with the search warrant.  Fleming was charged with two counts of animal cruelty and is being held at the Suffolk County Police 4th Pct in Hauppauge, in lieu of $1000.00 bail.  He will be arraigned Sunday in 1st District Court, Central Islip.

 
 
         The Suffolk County SPCA continues its appeal to the public for financial help, and support so that we may provide the necessary medical care for rescued and abused animals.  We are a private, nonprofit, charitable organization and the voice for animals in Suffolk County.  We do not receive taxpayer or public funding and we must rely on the support and generosity of donors to exist.
