                 The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for tying the legs of a Rottweiller-mix dog and then fatally wounding it with a gunshot wound to the chest.  The dog was found by its owner near railroad tracks in the Town of Southold.

 

            SPCA Chief Roy Gross said that the Southold Town Police Department has opened an investigation into the dog's death and that the SPCA is "ready to assist with any of our resources."

 

            Chief Gross also said that donations to the reward fund will gladly be accepted and to call the SPCA for directions on how to contribute.

 

            Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-SPCA (7722) or the Southold Town Police Department.  All calls will be kept confidential.
