"A HAPPY ENDING TO A SAD STORY"
"Red," the Pit Bull puppy who was seized from the home of Derick Phanord, who admitted to Suffolk County Police Detectives that he poured gasoline on and set fire to his pit bull Spike (later named "Maximus" by emergency care workers) has found a new home.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said today that Red's adoption is "a happy ending to a sad story." Gross said that after an exhaustive selection and "interview" process, Red picked out her new human family to bring her home after she was spayed. Red went home with her new family last week and she was re-named by the family, who wished to remain anonymous?
