FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Suffolk County SPCA, Nassau County Legislator Diane Yatauro, 18th L.D., and the Long Island Cat Project will be holding a Press Conference on Thursday June 21st; 10:00AM; at One West Street, Mineola, NY.  A photo op will be available with Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA and the SPCA's MASH Unit (MobileAnimalSpay-NeuterHospital).  Chief Gross will be presenting a check for $1,000.00 from the "Cody Foundation" to buy medical supplies to be used on the MASH Unit while performing TNR (trap, neuter, return) with the Long Island Cat Project.  These two organizations working hand in hand have spay/neutered hundreds of feral cats on Long Island.

The Cody Foundation was set up as a memorial to Cody, the Gross's 12 year old Golden Retriever who recently died from Cancer. Cody was a remarkable dog. His joy and happiness was felt everywhere he went: school presentations, nursing homes, parades, street fairs, television studios, police stations, motorcycle rides, dog walks, Spay and neuter clinics and the SPCA office.

The Cody Foundation has been established in his name to provide spay/neuter services, and to help animals in need. His owners, Chief Roy Gross and Lois Gross are dedicated to preserving his memory by helping all animals who are in distress and need help.
