In August, we announced the upcoming gut renovation of our flagship building located at 197 East Broadway. Today, we're thrilled to announce that the renovation has been officially approved by the Board of Trustees and we're moving forward with our plans to create the quintessential urban community center.

 

This 22-month renovation will be the first of its magnitude in the building's 122-year history and will allow us to better meet the needs of our dynamic Lower East Side neighborhood with revitalized classrooms, new art studios, a state-of-the-art fitness center, new senior center, new teen center and modern multi-purpose space that allows us to expand our programming for all ages.
