Introducing... Cause of the Month:
Literacy for All Ages |
| As students across the nation head back to school this month, the importance of literacy is in the spotlight.
Did you know... - At the age of four, kids from low income backgrounds hear 35 million fewer words than kids from affluent families. - Over 29% of the U.S. adult workforce is functionally illiterate.
How we're helping to solve this crisis
In our early childhood programs, we foster a love of reading and partner with national nonprofits like Jumpstart. For adults, we launched a College Access program for our low income parents that begins with ESL classes and ends with a college degree.
