Take 1 Minute: Sign Our ePetition & Help Us Save NYC's Youth Programs

Dear Friend,

As you may know, the Mayor's proposed budget would decimate The Edgies Teen Center and other programs like it -- affecting 10,750 youths throughout the city.

So we decided to take action. The Educational Alliance formed the first-ever coalition of OST 2 funded agencies -- more than 40 organizations throughout NYC. We're combining forces to mount street-level, media, online and eAdvocacy campaigns to bring attention to the ramifications if this cut goes through.

How You Can Help: We need people to sign our ePetition. It literally takes 1 minute. The coalition has a goal of getting 10,000 signatures by June 10th so we can present it to the Mayor. As of May 26th, we have 500 signatures. If you could sign it and forward this email to 5 friends, we'd greatly appreciate it.

We're also asking people to call 311 and write an e-mail to the Mayor (links and sample scripts are here).

Read more about this in The New York Non-Profit Press which quotes our Teen Center Director Amarilis Perez, here.
