Loram Facility Plant Tour - Loram Maintenenance of Way
May 10, 2011

Since 1954, Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. has been providing railroad maintenance equipment and services of exceptionally high standards of quality and performance. We know that as we perform our three specialties, rail grinding, shoulder ballast cleaning, and ditching, and perform them better than anybody else, we can help railroads extend the life of their assets. That means a better bottom line for everyone.

The APICS CPIM Recertification Exam

The APICS CPIM Recertification exam provides a unique opportunity to individuals whose APICS CPIM credentials have expired, and who would normally be required to retake all five APICS CPIM exams. Instead, candidates now can renew their certifications by taking just one exam.

Candidates had the opportunity to test for the APICS CPIM recertification at APICS 2010. There still is an opportunity for candidates to take the APICS CPIM Recertification exam through December 31, 2011. APICS is actively marketing the exam, and it is hoped that its partner network will help spread the word.

Visit apics.org/recertification  to learn more about the program, eligibility guidelines, exam delivery, costs, application information, and study options. If you have any questions about the APICS CPIM Recertification exam, contact certification@apics.org .

I would like to share with you a story about my mom, a woman who was very insecure about her background. She grew up in a blue collar family where neither her mother or father finished eighth grade. Mom completed high school, but only with tutoring by my father. She would frequently say to me, "I was born on the wrong side of the tracks."

One of the projects I've taken on this year in my role with the APICS Board was to organize a community service event for our chapter.  When looking through the possible options I wanted to find something that was not only helpful to the community at large, but also something that would be fun to do and relatively easy to schedule and fit into our busy lives.  To this end we have scheduled an evening at Second Harvest Heartland in Minneapolis on Thursday May 19th from 5PM to 7PM, and I hope you can join us..
