Dear Friends,

As we've committed to make our dream of Camp Ramah in Northern California a reality, we've been blessed with the donations of expertise from professionals in marketing, real estate and non-profit. Their generous contributions have allowed us to move this project forward on a shoestring. The staff of Camp Ramah in California also continues to devote time and energy to this effort.

Despite our tight-fisted fiscal policy, some expenses are unavoidable. Incorporating our 501(c)(3) required the consultation of an attorney. Vetting sites requires the hiring of land-use consultants who can navigate local zoning requirements and recommend water, waste and building strategies.

Until now, we have depended on a small circle of generous donors to fund this project. We are ready to widen the circle. Any gifts that you make to the Northern California Initiative of Camp Ramah in California will be restricted to costs directly supporting the site search and development of a Northern California camp.

Small gifts will make a big impact. Larger gifts will make a huge impact. Having funds available to hire professionals as we need them--rather than seeking funds after we identify a site worthy of further research--will make us more nimble in the real estate market and increase the likelihood that we can acquire a site in 5771.

We don't have any CDs or baseball caps as thank you gifts. Your only reward will be knowing that you played a foundational role in bringing the magic of Camp Ramah to a generation of Jewish children in one of the fastest growing Jewish communities in the world. What could be more satisfying than that?

Help us inaugurate our click here feature with a New Year gift to Camp Ramah in Northern California.
Thank You!
Ellen lifting the TorahWe hope your observance of the Days of Awe strengthened your commitment to living the life to which you aspire.  The members of the Board of Directors of Camp Ramah in Northern California, as well as the staff of Camp Ramah in California, join me in wishing you a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
