NYC Ramah Shabbat Dinner
On April 30th, several Ramahniks hosted
a wonderful Shabbat Dinner for Camp Ramah in California Alumni living in
New
York City. With more than 55 attendees, ranging from Machon '95 to
Machon '05,
former Ramahniks were able to see old friends and meet fellow alums
living in
New York. There was plenty of schmoozing, reminiscing, delicious food,
and
ruach! It was a meaningful event, helping alums stay connected to their
Ramah
California roots and the Ramah community on the east coast.
A
big Todah Rabah goes to co-chairs Jenna Metson, Hillary Gardenswartz,
Max Kates and Elizabeth Jefferson who made the event such a huge
success! |

Our 2010 Mishlachat Are Ready!
Each summer we are lucky to have a delegation of Israeli staff members who come to Ojai and work with our campers and staff. Not only do they serve as lifegaurds, basketball instructors, counselors and art teachers (and many more positions) but they also come to spread a better understanding and appreciation for Israel. Before the summer begins, the Mishlachat (the team of Israeli staff members) gather for an intensive 5-day training seminar which better prepares them for their summer at an American camp. Over 800 young Israelis come together with professions from a variety of Jewish camps across North America. This year, Rabbi Dan and Erika Resnick, our Program Director, met with our new 2010 Mishalchat and are excited to share that the group is better than ever! We can't wait for our kayitz 2010 campers and staff to get to know these special people!
