God's Polar Opposites |
Ephesians 2 gives us an interesting window on God's perception of kingdom "polar opposites." Strangers from the covenants of promise, and ...by the blood, brought near! In other words, foreigners to God's promises, or by Jesus' blood, brought near. Near to what? The Presence of God-introduced into the presence!
Two vital points: First, the significance & purpose of the blood. By it we are brought near to the Presence! Second, accessing hope & the covenant is based entirely on proximity to the presence! ...Distant from, estranged from the presence? No access!
Eph 2:12 NKJV that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Entrance into the benefits of the covenants of promise requires being "near." This discussion is all about Gods presence and whether you and I are distant or near! James 4 vividly confirms the principle. As we draw near to God, He responds in kind! As we thus submit to God, accessing His Presence provides a natural resistance to the influences of the devil-and actually puts him on the run! Amen. Selah.\o/ |
