| One of My Favorite Verses (and Prayers) |

Psa 40:3 AMP And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.
The immediate impact of this vs is the evangelistic, highly-infectious aspect of true worship. For me, highlight points include these. It is a new song ...of high-praise! ...And it's in my mouth, not just in my heart or running thru my head. This creative influence demands expression. However, it is not a declaration of praise about our God (horizontal), it's an affirmation of high-praise, an exuberant proclamation to our God (vertical). [The Hebrew word is Tehillah - vocal, exuberant, vigorous, even clamorous praise!]
The passage does not say those who witness will hear and fear. It says that of those who witness, many will see, they will recognize, understand (as something revealed) and their hearts will respond to that revelation with worship! It's not about hearing a marvelous and moving song, it's about seeing a profound revelation--and responding! Selah.
The Message Translation so beautifully phrases it, "More and more people are seeing this: they enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to GOD."
Amen, Lord, let it be so! \o/
