| Greetings!
Karyn & I so appreciate you opening this weeks SelahGram. |
| Beside Still Waters He Restores My Soul |
Psa 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Verse 2 precedes verse 3 for a reason! You cannot get to the restoring my soul part until first you find the green pastures and still waters and you lie down!
Considering that the original text was without punctuation and verse separations, we can clearly see the natural progression of vss.2&3. We could easily paraphrase, 'In green pastures and beside still waters He restores my soul!' Remember, the stillness of verse 2 isn't speaking of inactivity or even just physical solitude. It's talking about absolute peace. A peace that can only be experienced deep within Father's presence.
I pray that in whatever storm you find yourself today, you can find stillness. Absolute peace. In other words, when the going gets tough, for heaven's sake, lie down! Selah. \o/
P.S. The green pastures, the still waters or white sand beaches are not the restorers & the healers ...He is! |
