| A One Window Perspective? |
Gen 6:14 NKJV Make yourself an ark... 15 And this is how you shall make it... 16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit, from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. (MSG 16 Build a roof for it and put in a window eighteen inches from the top.)
Gen 8:16 confirms the single window, "After forty days Noah opened the window that he had built into the ship."
Amidst an ocean of corruption (Gen.6:11 NLT ...the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence),God designed and fashioned a sheltered, secret place environment to protect and secure His plan. Interestingly, He didn't give its occupants any perspective whatsoever of their circumstances. They weren't surrounded by windows, like a cruise ship with decks lined with lounge chairs to enjoy the ocean view. The only allowed view was vertical! They were only afforded one window... above! I mean, if He could design it with one window, why not two? ...Or 20? God's secret place sanctuary included a mandated focus and separation from distraction!
Even though God had already planned their destination and purpose, carefully guarding their perspective during the process was no less vital! The big question for each of us personally... Is my life governed by a one-window perspective or am I living on the observation deck? Selah. \o/ |
