Greetings!
Karyn & I so appreciate you opening this weeks SelahGram.
The Purest Form of Evangelism

PrayerPs 40:3 AMPHe has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship)[MSG adds: "abandoning themselves to GOD"] and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.

He has placed a new song in my mouth! He has placed... A new song of high praise (Tehillah) to our God; a declaration and affirmation of a vibrant vertical connection! .

I love the next passage as the vertical connection produces a horizontal result: Many will see and will worship! Note these important details. It does not say many will hear. Neither does the original say many will see it. Although some translations add "it," (as if seeing or watching an event) the original conveys many will see--understanding clearly the same revelation, "abandoning themselves to God" (MSG).

The result of this fervent connection will be confident reliance: trust! Amen. Ps.40:4 confirms, Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust.

It's a perfect ministry progression--the purest form of evangelism (much like Paul and Silas' fervent worship in the Philippian jail producing the basis for the church at Philippi): One worshiping heart yields another, and from that abandonment to God grows complete trust and reliance; Selah.\o/
