| Greetings!
Karyn & I so appreciate you opening this weeks SelahGram. |
| Finding The Eye |
As we launch the new year, consider this possible adjustment to your resolution list.
The biggest storms always have an eye! There is an amazing calm in the eye of the storm. Often the calmest atmosphere for hundreds of miles is literally and exclusively at the center of the storm! (The cleft of the rock, the table in the presence of the enemy...) This does not illustrate a "bunker mentality" (batten down the hatches, seal every door...) It depicts a sanctuary with a picture window.
When the inevitable storms of life appear, don't run for the hills, don't just hope God will somehow cause them to dissipate (thought sometimes He will) and don't just try to steel yourself to survive--resolving to stand and be a survivor! Find the eye! ...and then move with it! So often we tend to attach a face to our storms ...or a name. They become personal in one way or another. The truth however is that the issue with my storm is not who, how or why... the bottom line is: did I locate the eye?
Whatever storms challenge you during this upcoming year, first, find your sanctuary in the presence of the Lord! Resolve to find the eye! (The biggest storms always have a secret place.)
I suppose this is why Paul said, 'I glory in the storms!' This certainly doesn't reflect a "bunker mentality." ...More accurately, Paul was a "storm chaser!" Selah.
P.S. It's a new year, a new decade, a new season and indeed it's a new day! Amen! \o/
