New Video from the 2011 Albany Chamber Music Initiative

The Walden Chamber Players believes that chamber music is an ideal format for young students to learn the importance of collaboration, independence, leadership and respect. Studying music impacts students' success in school, society and in their adult lives by generating self-esteem, positive responses to learning and providing opportunities for self-expression. In this spirit the Walden Chamber Players began their largest outreach project yet, the Albany Chamber Music Initiative, this spring in Albany, NY. The Albany Chamber Music Initiative is a collaborative project between the Walden Chamber Players and the teachers of the Albany Public Schools and it is designed to empower and engage students of all ages through the performance and study of chamber music. This spring alone over 250 urban students participated in the program, developing leadership and learning skills throughout exposure and hands-on work in chamber music performance.
