This market  just keeps growing!
Growing: a second lot

We may have forty vendors this week !

That means we will outgrow our "original market- lot".

The owners of the Terminal have agreed to let us use the parking lot right on the corner of 9th & Wabash - which will give us some great visibility!

Just before 8:00 a.m. (after most vendors have set up) , we will close the east end of the alley for pedestrian safety.

Vendors and patrons can still park in the large "West Lot".

Plenty of tents!

As soon as I send this, I am headed out to buy twelve more tents for our market!
Who goes where?

Here's the plan:

No one has to change from their current location, but...

starting this week, we will ask  vendors who are in the "interior " of  the  original (North) lot to  remove their vehicles after setting up.

For those who would like to keep therir vehicles with them, we will offer them first pick of spaces in the new lot (Terminal's corner at 9th& Wabash).

Does that make sense?

It maintains an attractive appearance in the main lot, and still gives flexibility to sell out of a vehicle or stay in the same place.

We will have several  new vendors who will get started in the "new lot"  - are there other volunteers to be there too?

DFM banner 2008Refrigerator magnets

Hot off the FedEx truck today - we have one thousand magnets to give to our patrons and prospective customers.

These were very popular last year, and we'll distribute some to each vendor.
SFMNP Vouchers

Starting this week, some customers will bring $3 vouchers to the market.

The vouchers can be accepted only by vendors participating in the State of Indiana's Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

Income-eligible recipients get six-$3 vouchers (total of $18 for the season) to purchase fruits and veggies from designated vendors.  Approved vendors receive a  SFMNP poster to show shoppers that their booth is an eligible place to use their vouchers.

Remember: no cash is to be given for change, and you can accept the vouchers only for eligible items (basically fruits and vegetables).

The 2010 vouchers are LAVENDER

See me for details, or to join the program.  Or click here to download the rules and the application.

WICAA Coupons

New this year - starting this week!

More "Vouchers" are being distributed through the West Central Indiana Community Action Agency (WICAA), through a $5,000 federal stimulus grant.

Income eligible shoppers will bring the WICAA coupons to market.  To keep it simple, they have set the eligibility and rules to mirror the FMNP program.

The main difference is that you don't deposit these WICAA vouchers in the bank.  Simply sign them, and give them to me.  I will submit them to WICAA on Mondays, and you should have a check by the following Friday.

Here's what the vouchers look like:
