Month: Zann Carter River Wools honors Zann Carter as the
Knitter of the Month at 6pm as part of the First Friday events . A weaver, knitter, crocheter, and poet, Zann
quietly surprises us at every turn.
In the May/June 2010 edition of Handwoven, Zann's Motley Shawl (shown above) was selected as Most
Innovative in the Not Just for Socks Contest. Zann is also
featured in the 2010 online International Freeform Crochet Guild publication.

Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown dedication on June 5.
Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown was a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs, helping them win back-to-back World Series Championships in 1907 and 1908. When he retired to Terre Haute, he operated a Texaco station on North 7th Street, where the "Cherry Street Parking Garage" now stands.
At 10 am on Saturday, June 5th, Mordecai will be celebrated and remembered with the dedication

University on Friday, June 4 through Sunday, June 6.
The Opening Ceremony in Hulman Center is intoxicating, inspiring, and a lot of fun. It starts at 6pm on Friday.

athletes from across the state will be "Driven to Win" in seven
different Olympics-type sports.

"Sustainable Agriculture" is the title
of the 3rd in a 5-part speaker series sponsored by Our
Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5,

John Rosene, chair of the Ag program at Ivy
Tech-Wabash Valley, will discuss consolidation
of the seed industry, yield improvement and its implications, genetic
modification in crops, and how consumers can shift the ag industry
toward sustainability.
The 30-45 minute session will be
followed by time for Q&A and a reception for guests.
It is free and open to the public.

First?," performed by Jerry Burns and friend, songs from "Damn Yankees"
performed by Jackie Lynn, and baseball bloopers on a big-screen
TV.
A baseball buffet will also include barbecue, hot dogs, baked beans,
