During her visit to East Africa in October, Leslie met a group of Kenyans who had been living in refugee camps in Northwestern Kenya after losing their homes during the election violence.
After the refugee camps disbanded, these forward thinking families pooled their resources and established a mixed tribe community in Molo. The community desperately needed a primary school to provide care for the children below school age, so Swahili Imports contributed enough money to help the community build a proper brick school.
We'll keep you posted on the happenings around Molo in the coming months. We're very excited to see just how this group of dedicated individuals will continue to rebuild their lives from the ashes of civil unrest.
