Networking...

Does the very word "networking" make you cringe and hide?  Or call to mind images of aggressive sales people who won't take "no" for an answer?

Like a hammer, networking is a tool that can be used or abused.  What's undeniable, though, is that the power of human connections is enormous.

Your network, essentially, is just all the people you know and who know you.  And the more people who know you, and your business, the more successful you and your business will be.

It takes very little money to use this tool effectively, but it does take commitment and skill.  If you're looking to grow your business, especially during a down economy, make it a point to meet at least one new person each day - and ask for their help!  Take advantage of every opportunity to meet other business people, and help them whenever you can.  The more you do this, the more business you'll find coming your way.
