- Post Event - Summary

Lissa Constantine - BirdDog Design Ltd

BirdDog Design is a design house located in Old Hull, Quebec. 15 years in business, they have fostered long-term relationships with their clients. They are a small pack of wildly creative graphic designers.

A unique breed, BirdDog delivers the 'wow' factor. Design of advertising, print media, packaging, web, e-marketing, signage and 3-dimensional installations, they are eager to please their clients with extraordinary results.

Leaders of the pack. They have the experience, knowledge and artistry to pull together superior results, mixing strategic insight with ingenuity. Big on calculated risk and bold ideas, their tails start wagging when they're left to create imaginative communication pieces that grab people's attention.

At last week's craft talk Lissa told members of the history of BirdDog Design, how she started in her basement and then moved up to the third floor of her house and then eventually into the second side of her duplex.  Lissa introduced members to her staff, Dana Fish and Chantal Lancaster who were in attendance at the meeting and explained to members that BirdDog Design is not your run of the mill design firm.  Lissa and her staff provide client's visual communication with BITE!

At BirdDog they want you to succeed and are most happy when they hear about your success.  They pride themselves on building trusting relationships with their clients.  Lissa will go into a business to see what is really needed or not needed.  Sometimes the best thing for a client is telling them that what they want is not what they currently need.  Lissa and her team work to build stong brand designs that will give their clients a leg to stand on through all of their advertising.  They want their clients brands to stand the test of time.

Lissa then went on to walk members through the steps of rolling out a new business using one of her newer clients, a yoda studio, as a case study.

  1. Meet with client, see location, find out their vision.
  2. Go and create design
  3. Present concept(s) to client.
    • BirdDog staff meet with the client to talk about the look and feel of each concept.
    • BirdDog take their expertise in design and combine it with the expertise of the client.
  4. Rollout Design
    • Business cards
    • Banners
    • Websites
  5. Happy Client
    • As any business owner knows, you can't do it alone!  BirdDog has the expertise and heart to help clients make it work.
