2011 OXA Golf Tournament
Anderson Links Golf & Country Club
On Thursday, August 25, OXA held their Annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful Anderson Links Golf & Country Club.
Although the day started out rainy, Mother Nature worked her magic and the weather cleared in time for the 8:30am shotgun start. Although dark storm clouds circled the course all day we only had a 10-15 minute shower around noon and the rest of the day was perfect!
New this year to add a fun twist to the day, golfers participated in a Marshmallow Chipping Contest run by the Executive Coordinators, Jennifer and Raymonde. The object was to chip giant marshmallows (which can be found at Wal-mart) into one of two buckets in order to receive tickets which went into a draw for gift certificates to Louise's Belgian Chocolates and Chapters. It was free to play and as long as you participated you got a ticket to the draw.
 
As the foursomes passed through the chipping contest location, the Coordinators took pictures of each group.
 
65 golfers were on hand to enjoy a buffet breakfast and the morning's activities and then were joined by additional members for a wonderful lunch of BBQ chicken and ribs with all the fixings. While everyone enjoyed their meal the fun continued with contest awards, a live auction and door prize draws.
