IEA Conference Update - Thom Bourne
Thom Bourne took us through the current journey of the IEA Conference. He re-introduced the Leadership Team as follows:
Program: Pauline Fleming (Pro-Active Business Leadership)
Pauline knew that there was zero money in the budget to pay for speakers hence she tapped into her inner circle of speakers and got the best of the best.
Communications: Lissa Constantine (BirdDog Design)
One of the newest OXA members. A ball of fire ready to ignite spark with her creative designs and constant willingness to get the job done! Along with her committee members she designed the IEA Conference website look and feel while Craig Mackay (Nortak Software) programmed the website.
Local Marketing: Aimée Dupuis (Daquin Sales)
Always ready to help with disseminating information on the conference and looking for sponsorship opportunities.
International Marketing: Adrian Spitzer (Valpak)
The guy with the funky ideas who consistently pushes the envelope towards making the impossible possible.
75th Anniversary Gala: Louise McManus (Louse's Belgium Chocolates)
Working towards making the gala a magical experience for all attendees.
Logistics: Raymonde Lemire, Denise Lemire (Documents Etcetera)
Their experience, expertise and dedication in making this conference a MUST ATTEND EVENT is outstanding. They are the GLUE that makes everything come together.
Thank you to all for their support and commitment to this special event.
Many more OXA members have contributed to the planning and implementation of this conference and they will be recognized at future weekly meetings.
What's happening in each committee:
Program: keynote speakers and breakout session speakers have been chosen and confirmed. We are now finalizing the moderators for the Breakfast of Champions and fine tuning the overall conference program.
Communications: writing content for the web, email blasts and press releases. Coordinating ad and radio campaigns with the Citizen and CHUM.
Marketing: Currently working on the conference goodie bag and some sponsorship opportunities.
75th Anniversary Gala: It's going to be a great party! Black tie event in the glamorous OCC Trillium Ballroom. The Mic Armitage Band has been hired to provide entertainment for all.
Logistics: Managing contract with OCC, handling registrations, preparing and sending out email blasts, working on the program outline, management of sponsors - making sure that all of the little details are taken care of.
