Thom continued his craft talk by providing an update on weed control. Specifically the product he introduced to members at his last craft talk. Fiesta is a product which works extremely fast, usually within 48 hours, and is made with iron which is found in nature and therefore kills the weeds without harming your grass. Nutri-Lawn was the first company to introduce Fiesta in the Ottawa area and although this is a rather expensive product Thom advised that the results it provides are well worth the cost.
Accompanying Thom to the luncheon last week were two of his collegues, Darren Kalinowski who has been with Nutri-Lawn for 15 years and who is also Nutri-Lawn's alternate OXA member and Chris Villeneuve, Thom's partner in the irrigation company for the last 18 years. Chris' vast experience and knowledge in irrigation has made him the "go to guy" for landscapers in this area.
Chris went on to talk to members about water management solutions such as smart controllers that can automatically adjust watering schedules to optimize your irrigation. These controllers use advanced technology and easy-to-use interfaces to help reduce water, time and money. All it takes is 3 easy steps to set up smart controllers:
- Simply enter site specific conditions upon installation of unit.
