Thursday, March 24, 2011 IEA Conference Roundtable Discussions
At last week's luncheon Pauline Fleming facilitated the IEA Conference related roundtable discussions. The subject of the discussion was "Call for Experts to Moderate the Breakfast of Champions," which is planned for Tuesday September 21, 2011.
Part of the 2011 IEA Leadership Team's goal is to attract a wider audience of Executive Association members to the conference. In order to help acheive this goal they would like to draw upon the expertise of OXA members to provide valuable topics for roundtable discussions.
At the start of last week's roundtable discussions, forms were ditributed to each member asking the following 3 questions:
- Your area of expertise?
- How is it applicable to an international audience?
- What are three nuggets of wisdom you could share at a Breakfast of Champions roundtable?
The expertise did not have to be business related, it could be something that the member was good at or that they had an interest in (ex. gardening, how to arrange your schedule so that you can spend more time on the golf course, etc).
Once members had completed their form the results were shared witht he other members at their table. Many were pleasantly surprised to learn about the expertise that their fellow OXA members possessed but was previously unknown.
At the end of the discussion period the forms were gathered by Pauline who will contact OXA members regarding potential moderator opportunities during the upcoming IEA Conference in September 2011.
If you were not present at last week's luncheon but would like to be considered for the opportunity to become a moderator please contact Pauline Fleming directly at (613) 688-3517.
Thank you to all members present at last weeks luncheon for contributing your ideas and participating in the discussions!
