As a preferred contractor for all types of roofing for commercial and industrial developers, R & G Eastern is best known locally as the specialists for your home residential project.
What is the difference? "We emphasize the quality of our workmanship. You can see the difference even by the neatness of our job sites." - Marcel Giguere, co-owner.
Customer Service is most important to R & G Eastern Roofing. They provide Emergency Service to their clients 7 days a week. They are active in the community and have been members of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 1969 and the Ottawa Executives' Association since 2004.
R & G Eastern Roofing Ltd is a family business. To consistently ensure the highest standards of workmanship, the company's owners often work alongside their men. A tribute to company pride is the fact that many employees have been with the company for over 20 years.
At last week's luncheon Ernest shared with members a brief history of R & G Eastern Roofing and also his years in the roofing business. R & G Eastern Roofing Ltd is a successful joining of two roofing families. Eastern Roofing Ottawa Ltd was founded in 1966 by brothers Philippe and Georges Giguere. George's son Marcel joined the company in 1982 following Philippe's passing. When George retired in 2000, Marcel took over the role as president. In 2003 R & G Roofing amalgamated with Eastern Roofing Ottawa Ltd to form today's R & G Eastern Roofing Ltd. Ernest Gauthier began in roofing as a labourer in early 1973 while employed with Eastern Roofing Ottawa Ltd. In 1978, he left the company to work with Graves Roofing and then M & AL Roofing where he moved up the ladder from labourer to Foreman then to supervisor. Then in 1992, to realize his entrepreneurial goals Ernest formed his own company named R & G Roofing and the rest as they say is history.
R & G Eastern Roofing currently consists of 8 employees as well as Ernest, the President, with 38 years experience and Marcel, the Secretary/Treasurer, with 31 years experience. Their employees have a wide range of experience levels from first year apprentices to fully qualified roofers with over 30 years of experience. This experience permits them to find problems more quickly than most which can help their clients to save on labour costs. At R & G Eastern Roofing their strength is their service and the quality of their workmanship.
R & G specializes in all types of commercial and residential roofing including maintenance, emergency repairs and finding leaks problem on any type of roof no matter what roofing design was used. As a fully insured, competitive roofing company whose employees are all safety certified they are able to offer additional services such as safe snow removal and are qualified to install many different types of roofing products including: 4ply tar & gravel, modified bitumen, EPDM, PVC, Hydotech, metal roofing, asphalt singles and cedar shakes.
