Manny Melios of Hemingway's Catering
The Melios family started the long journey to owning Hemingway's
Catering in 1955 when Manny's father immigrated to Canada from
Greece and became a diswasher at a Montreal restaurant. Over
the next few years he moved to Toronto to take cooking courses
and then back to Montreal where he opened several restaurants.
After growing up in the restaurants their father owned, both
Manny and his brother started working full-time in the restaurant
business after completing their studies. His brother in 1982 and
Manny in 1986.
In 1982 Hemingway's was opened in Ottawa and in 1989 it was
bought by the Melios family. Over the years the business has
grown and given back to the community. The three main charities
that are close to their hearts are CHEO, the Canadian Cancer
Society and the Heart & Stroke Foundation. For the last 12 years
Hemingway's has fed the volunteers for the CHEO Telethon. They
also cater many government events (they are security cleared)
and have catered for the Tulip Festival.
Hemingway's has an array of preset menus to choose from, but
can also prepare menus to accommodate dietary restirictions due
to food allergies or for religious reasons. They can provide bar
service for events and will take care of all permits required. Every
dish prepared passes through the hands of an owner at one point
in time or another during its trip to an event and most events are
attended by one of the owners as well as their polite and
courteous staff.
To find out more about Hemingway's Catering and how they can
make your next party or event a great one, contact Manny at (613)
596-1610 or

Pauline Fleming of ProActive
Business Leadership
Pauline is a Master Certified Executive Coach who works
with businesses and leaders to retain their staff and customers. It
costs 10 times more to get new business than to get repeat
business from current clients. Pauline helps business leaders to
work at being their best self. Business leaders who are stressed
and over worked cannot do the best for their business. ProActive
Business Leadership helps its clients to work on their happy
quotion. Happy people are more productive people who enjoy
coming to work and will build on their strengths.
Pauline's approach is different than most coaches. She deals with
the whole person (which many others won't touch) not just the
business side of things. She first looks at the leader of a
buisness, then the employees, then the customers. She looks
lastly at the buisness itself because the people who work in and
with a buisness have to be happy in order for the business to do
well. Pauline leads by example and uses the techniques she
teaches in her own business. She uses a boutique style for her
business, hand selecting the clients she works with. She does
most of her work by telephone and gets most of her business by
referral. These proven techniques allowed Pauline to grow her
business in 2009 while also cutting costs. They have also allowed
her to tailor her business to fit her life. She is able to meet her
business goals while only working 20 hours per week and only
about 12 weeks per year.

they can help you and your business visit their website
