As always - the market accepts SNAP (food stamp) benefits for all food vendors. If you have a SNAP card, you can match with "Boston Bounty Bucks" to get up to $20 worth of fruits and veggies at half price! Please stop in at the SMAMS tent for information. Also, Spring Brook Farm and Langwater Farm accept WIC and Senior Nutrition coupons.

Recipe of the Week
Courtesy of: Red Pepper Pesto 2 tsp Olive Oil 1 Garlic Clove 2 Red Bell Peppers or 2 Sweet Frying Peppers 2 tbs Slivered Almonds, toasted 3 tbs Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese 1/4 Cup Finely Chopped Parsley 1 tsp Lemon Juice Pinch of Cayenne Pepper Salt and Pepper to taste In food processor combine the red peppers, garlic clove, almonds, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, parsley, lemon juice and 2 tsp olive oil and cayenne pepper. Pulse until a coarse puree forms. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!

Ashmont Grill Honored in Mayor's Garden Contest

Congratulations to Ashmont Grill and owner/chef Chris Douglass, who took second-place honors in the Main Street District category of Mayor Menino's annual garden contest! Chris devised an ingenious vertical garden using pallets filled with soil and held in place by burlap, and a built-in irrigation system.

| Thanks to all who participated in celebrating the new signage for Ashmont Cycles and Sea Breeze Mexican Grill on August 16 - Rep. Linda Dorcena Forry, Councilor Frank Baker, Dept. of Neighborhood Development Director Evelyn Friedman, Boston Police Area C-11 Bicycle Unit, and lots of friends! The beautiful signs were made possible with design and financial assistance from the City's "ReStore" program.
