Boston Shines Saturday, April 28!
Like many neighborhood groups, SMAMS will be participating in this year's "Boston Shines" cleanup campaign Saturday, April 28.
We would like to invite all local neighborhood groups to join us in cleaning up Dorchester Ave, then join us on Ashmont Station Plaza for hot dogs!
- When you finish your cleaning projects in your neighborhood, please come down to clean either Peabody Square Clock Park or Dot Ave between King Street and Shepton Street.
- Please bring your own cleaning tools if possible (SMAMS has some brooms, etc, but the supply is limited!)
- SMAMS has trash bags (located at Peabody Square island and St. Mark's Rectory). You can leave trash bags on any corner on the Avenue, and the Public Works Dept will pick them up.
- We'll finish up by noon and then head to the Ashmont Station Plaza for hot dogs and drinks!
Additional projects this year:
A crew is working on mulching/planting tree pits on Dot Ave south of Ashmont Street. For this project, please meet at Flat Black Coffee in the Carruth Building at 9:00 a.m. For more info, please contact Erica Mattison at ehmattison@yahoo.com
St. Joseph Rehab/Nursing Care Center will be cleaning on Centre Street and Dot Ave. , with their own cookout afterward, 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. For this project, meet at St. Joseph's, 321 Centre Street, 9:00 a.m.
Fuller-Bailey Neighborhood Association is unveiling their new Neighborhood Trash Cans - 9:30 a.m. at 34 Burt Street. Free coffee & doughnuts, City officials will be present. These new bins will be prominently displayed throughout the neighborhood!

Thanks to Trinity Management Company, Saint Mark's Parish and the MBTA for partnering with us; Chris English in the Mayor's Ofice of Neighborhood Services for coordinating; all volunteers; and hot dog Master Chef Barry Fadden!
