Dorchester Ave Zoning Update - Final Community Meeting Wednesday, Jan 25
SMAMS has been participating for the last year in the BRA's Dorchester Ave Zoning Update project. The BRA will hold their final community meeting Wednesday, Jan 25, 6:30 PM at Viet-AID, 42 Charles Street, near Fields Corner Station.
The project aims to combine Dorchester Ave and the rest of Dorchester into a single zoning neighborhood, correct inconsistencies, and, where appropriate, update Dot Ave zoning to reflect current and potential future land uses.
All are welcome to attend! For more information, please contact Jeremy Rosenberger at the BRA: 617-918-4431 or jeremy.rosenberger.bra@cityofboston.gov Also, you can visit the project's web site, http://www.dotavzoning.org
(Thanks to Len Osborne, and to Karen Henry Garrett of Dot-2-Dot Cafe, who have been SMAMS' representatives at the many zoning meetings over the past year.)

As you may have heard, the MBTA is proposing fare increases and service reductions.
The proposed service cuts include eliminating weekend service on the Mattapan trolley, as well as reducing service on some of the bus lines operating out of Ashmont Station.
One proposal calls for eliminating service on the #18 bus (Dot Ave from Ashmont to Andrew Station), either on Sundays or altogether.
Another calls for possibly eliminating weekday service on the #27 bus (Ashmont-Mattapan).
The T is holding a series of community meetings to discuss these proposals. The closest meetings to the SMAMS district are:
Tuesday, Jan 31; 6-8 pm Mildred Avenue Community Center 5 Mildred Ave, Mattapan Thursday, Feb 2; 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm Dorchester House Multi-Service Center 1353 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester
If you want to make your voice heard on these proposals, please attend one of these meetings!
If you cannot attend, you can also email your comments to fareproposal@mbta.com or mail them to:
