Angelo Spinosa Encore Performance at Farmers' Market July 22!

The crowd continues to grow at Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers' Market - 673 people last week, our largest crowd ever!  This week Angelo Spinosa returns perform on the recorder and flute, and to share his wide knowledge of classical music.

Our vendors include Spring Brook Farm of Littleton, Langwater Farm of North Easton, and Dorchester's own Cedar Grove Gardens and Dot-2-Dot Cafe

The market runs every Friday, 3:00 - 7:00 PM through mid-October on the Ashmont Station Plaza.  We accept SNAP/Food Stamp benefits, WIC and Senior Nutrition coupons.  And SNAP shoppers can get up to $20 worth of veggies at half price through the Boston Bounty Bucks program!

Complete Streets Neighborhood Walk July 19  

     

 Host Mark Fenton Leads Complete Streets Neighborhood Walk 7/19/11 Thanks to all who joined SMAMS, Fields Corner Main Street , Boston Transportation Dept ,  and Boston Public Health Commission  for a Complete Streets Neighborhood Walk from Fields Corner to Peabody Square!

Walk leader Mark Fenton (in photo), host of the "America's Walking" PBS TV series, explained the relationship among walking, good street design, and public health.  We then explored that environment as we walked from Fields Corner to Peabody Square, and met with many local businesses along the way who making walking - and shopping - here a pleasure.
