Langwater Farm offers "CSA" Shares at Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers' Market

Langwater Farm 07-16-10

Langwater Farm of Easton, Mass., is happy to offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) memberships at the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers Market this year!

Membership in Langwater's CSA includes 15 weeks of Certified Organic produce starting the first week of the farmers' market (July 8) and ending the second week of October.  CSA shares are $450 for a full share and $250 for a half share.

Each week shareholders will get a variety of 5-10 different types of organic veggies, with the variety changing according to the season.  Members will get a newsletter each week with delicious seasonal recipes and the latest news about the farm.

Pickup for all CSA shares will be at the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers Market, at Ashmont Station Plaza on Dorchester Ave on Fridays from 3-7 pm.

Langwater will have a board at the farmers' market each week listing what shareholders will get that week (for example, two pounds of tomatoes, one pint cherry tomatoes, a melon, a bag of arugula, a pound of beans, a bunch of basil, a head of garlic, and a half-pint of hot peppers).  Shareholders pick their own items from the display to match the list.  Arrangements can be made to set aside your share if you'll be arriving late.

To reserve your spot in the CSA, or for more information, please contact Langwater at langwaterfarm@gmail.com or 508-205-9665.  For more information about the farm, please call or email, or visit www.langwaterfarm.com .

(Note, the registration deadline has been extended to the end of May!)

Business News:  Postal Services, Wine Suggestions

It was a sad day in the district when the Post Office moved from Talbot Ave to Washington Street several years ago.  But these days it's closer than ever! You can now take care of most of your postal errands right in Peabody Square, at Fisher & Associates, 571 Talbot Ave, at the corner of Ashmont Street.  They are offering mailing services for the U.S. Postal Service in addition to tax, accounting and property management services.

O'Brien's Liquors, 1911 Dot Ave at the corner of Ashmont Street, is greatly expanding their wine selection, and they would like to fill their racks with your choices!  Please feel free to contact O'Brien's at zafar4usa@gmail.com and mention the brand, selection, and whether it's domestic or imported (including country of origin).
