Triple Grand Opening  April 16!

Ashmont Cycles April 2011
Fisher & Associates April 2011Sea Breeze Mexican Grill April 2011

Please join your neighbors and elected officials Saturday, April 16 for the grand opening of three grand new businesses:  Ashmont Cycles, Fisher & Associates, and Sea Breeze Mexican Grill!

The formal ribbon-cuttings begin at 10:45 am at Ashmont Cycles (551-A Talbot Ave, next to Ashmont Grill), but the fun begins much earlier:  A/C is hosting a morning ride to the Blue Hills, leaving the shop at 8:00 am and returning at 9:30.  Throughout the day they'll have workshops on choosing the right bike, bike maintenance, and city riding tips; a family ride; and a charity "velosprint" challenge.  Also, reduced prices on everything in the shop (except labor). Please click on the link above for times and details.

Fisher & Associates (571 Talbot Ave, also next to Ashmont Grill), specializing in tax preparation, accounting and property management, will be holding raffles for beautiful gift baskets and providing refreshments.  And Sea Breeze (1782 Dot Ave, at the corner of Shepton Street) will be offering half-price tacos and enchiladas from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Many thanks to the City's  Department of Neighborhood Development for their assistance to these three businesses.  The beautiful awning at Fisher & Associates was designed and financed through DND's ReStore program, and Ashmont Cycles and Sea Breeze are currently working with ReStore on signage for their shops.

Langwater Farm offers "CSA" Shares at Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers' Market

Langwater Farm 07-16-10

Langwater Farm of Easton, Mass., is happy to offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) memberships at the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers Market this year!

Membership in Langwater's CSA includes 15 weeks of Certified Organic produce starting the first week of the farmers' market (July 8) and ending the second week of October.  CSA shares are $450 for a full share and $250 for a half share.

Each week shareholders will get a variety of 5-10 different types of organic veggies, with the variety changing according to the season.  Members will get a newsletter each week with delicious seasonal recipes and the latest news about the farm.

Pickup for all CSA shares will be at the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers Market, at Ashmont Station Plaza on Dorchester Ave on Fridays from 3-7 pm.

Langwater will have a board at the farmers' market each week listing what shareholders will get that week (for example, two pounds of tomatoes, one pint cherry tomatoes, a melon, a bag of arugula, a pound of beans, a bunch of basil, a head of garlic, and a half-pint of hot peppers).  Shareholders pick their own items from the display to match the list.  Arrangements can be made to set aside your share if you'll be arriving late.

To reserve your spot in the CSA, or for more information, please contact Langwater at langwaterfarm@gmail.com or 508-205-9665.  For more information about the farm, please call or email, or visit www.langwaterfarm.com .
