Ashmont Cycles Rolls March 1!

Spring begins three weeks early in Dorchester, with the opening of Ashmont Cycles on Tuesday, March 1!
The shop, at 551-A Talbot Ave, next to Ashmont Grill, offers a wide range of bikes - from kids' models to adult commuters and hybrids to road bikes. Owner/local resident/SMAMS board member Jack Pelletier has years of experience as a bike mechanic and repairs all makes and models. The shop also carries plenty of accessories.
Opening Day hours are 10 am - 6 pm. After that, usual business hours will be:
Tuesday, 12-6 Wed/Thurs/Fri, 10 - 6 Saturday, 9 - 5 Sunday, 12:30 - 4 (Closed Mondays)

| Dot Ave Zoning Update Meeting
March 9
The Community Kickoff meeting for the Dot Ave Zoning Update process will Wednesday, March 9, 6:30 pm, at Viet-AID, 42 Charles Street (near Fields Corner Station).
This project will incorporate Dot Ave zoning into the zoning for the rest of Dorchester, correct inconsistencies, and, where appropriate, update the zoning to reflect current and potential future land uses.
Thanks to SMAMS affiliates Karen Henry-Garrett of Dot-2-Dot Cafe and architect Len Osborne for their work on the project Advisory Group. Thanks also to Advisory Group member Rosanne Foley of Dorchester Environmental Health Coalition, which partners with SMAMS on our farmers' market.

Ashmont Trolley Noise Meeting March 23
Sen. Jack Hart has set up a follow-up meeting with the MBTA regarding noise from the Ashmont-Mattapan trolleys. The meeting will take place Wednesday, March 23, 6:30 PM, at All Saints Church Hall, 209 Ashmont Street. For more information, please contact Senator Hart's office at 617-722-1150.
