Surf's Up, Prices Down for Tiki-Tini Nov 17!

The best November beach party in Dorchester just got better, with the addition of the Ukelele Union of Boston and the DotFlex Limbo Challenge!
Stop by The Blarney Stone, 1505 Dorchester Ave, on Wednesday, November 17, 7-10 p.m., for Tiki-Tini, the sixth annual Martinis on the Avenue. Try out the new Tiki-Tini, and support SMAMS' and Fields Corner Main Street's work revitalizing our Dot Ave business districts.
Prices have been lowered this year, to $25. Admission includes the Blarney's great hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a live auction hosted by Craig Galvin. Free parking is available in the Fields Corner Mall.

Business Discovery Tour - Brenda's Flower and Gift Shop
 Please welcome SMAMS' newest business, Brenda's Flower & Gift Shop, 1726 Dorchester Ave, across from the Dot-2-Dot Cafe. Brenda's has served the neighborhood for several years, but new owner Christine Tran took over the shop just this month . Christine, a former computer professional, has been creating floral arrangements since childhood, and she is a graduate of the Rittners School of Floral Design. In addition to flowers, Christine is planning to carry a selection of plants, and to significantly upgrade the shop's gift offerings. She'll also soon be selling holiday wreaths and greens. Restaurant Scene

The Dot-2-Dot Cafe features Melville Parks's Brandon Guillermo Friday, Nov. 12. Brandon will be playing with two others and the music is a mix of jazz classics, Latin and folkloric. Dinner is from 6pm and the music starts at 7pm. For reservations or more info, please call the cafe at 617-436-2368.
