 Uke-A-Palooza at Farmers' Market!

When's the last time you heard a really good ukelele band?  This Friday is your chance!  The Ukelele Union of Boston will be performing at the Farmer' Market this Friday, 5:30 PM.  Also, Flat Black coffee throughout the afternoon, compliments of Nick Calos and Wainwright Bank.

Not to mention what you'll find at the farm stands -
meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, cookies, pastries, flowers, herbs, and all kinds of late-summer fruits and veggies from Langwater Farm (now certified organic!), Farmer Dave's, Spring Brook Farm, and Cedar Grove Gardens.  

The market runs this Friday and next, 3-7 p.m. at Ashmont Station Plaza (corner of Dorchester Ave and Ashmont Street).  Free parking available for shoppers at ODWIN Learning Center, 1943 Dot Ave!  Also, two-hour free parking is available on the Ave.

After several years of work and fundraising, Sleeping Moon will soon be landing on the Ashmont Station Plaza!  Please join sculptor Joseph Wheelwright, Mayor Menino, Secretary of Transportation Jeffrey Mullan,  MBTA General Manager Richard Davey, the Boston City Singers, Dorchester Arts Collaborative and SMAMS in welcoming this beautiful landmark - Note new date & time, Tuesday, October 26, 4:00 PM at the corner of Dot Ave. and Ashmont Street.  Complimentary reception after at Ashmont Grill.  Rain date Thursday, October 28, 4:00 PM.  For more information, please call the SMAMS office, 617-825-3846.

 Surf's Up, Prices Down for Tiki-Tini Nov 17!

Don't miss the last beach party till June! Stop by The Blarney Stone, 1505 Dorchester Ave, on Wednesday, November 17, 7-10 p.m., for the sixth annual Martinis on the Avenue! Try out the new Tiki-Tini, and support SMAMS' and Fields Corner Main Street's work revitalizing our Dot Ave business districts.


Prices have been lowered this year, to $25. Admission includes the Blarney's great hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a live auction hosted by Craig Galvin. Free parking is available in the Fields Corner Mall.
