| UMass Extension Brings More Recipes to Farmers' Market This Friday
UMass Extension Service will return this Friday to the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farnmers' Market to share their quick-and-healthy recipes.
You can pick up all the ingredients, and much more -meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, cookies, pastries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, apricots, blueberries, raspberries, corn, tomatoes, green & wax beans, green peppers, flowers, herbs, kale, summer squash, beets, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, and radishes - from our weekly vendors: Farmer Dave's, Spring Brook Farm, Langwater Farm, and Cedar Grove Gardens.
The market runs every Friday through October, 3-7 p.m. at Ashmont Station Plaza (corner of Dorchester Ave and Ashmont Street). Free parking available for shoppers at ODWIN Learning Center, 1943 Dot Ave! Also, two-hour free parking is available on the Ave.

Motown Legend Visits Dot-2-Dot Cafe Friday
This Friday the Dot-2-Dot Cafe welcomes long-time Motown guitarist Wali Ali . Mr Ali has played with Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Aretha Franklin, The Jacksons, the Temptations, Rick James and Teena Marie, just to name a few. He was a manager for the world famous Cotton Club in N.Y. and currently lives in LA.

The Ashmont Grill will host Boston's newest duck boat, "Dorchester Dottie", on Saturday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. A portion of brunch sales will be donated to the "Quack Quack Give Back" in support of Boston Public Library youth programs.
