Ashmont Station Update

Phase 1 of the Ashmont Station renovations is almost complete.   The busway and the "Kiss & Ride" pickup/drop-off lane (on the station side of the Carruth Building) are open.  The north plaza, elevators and escalators, and the sidewalk from the Carruth Building to Ashmont Street are expected to open in October.   The cab stand will move across Dorchester Ave to the station side, freeing up space for customer parking.

Work on Phase 2 is expected to begin spring 2010 and finish spring 2011.  Phase 2 includes the north entrance, the glass roof, fencing, and finishes in and around the station.

SMAMS is planning to host a community  meeting in November, with T officials on hand to give a progress report and answer any questions.
