Farmers' Market Opens July 10

Farmers' Mkt Logo #1
The Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers' Market, sponsored by SMAMS and ODWIN Learning Center, will open Friday July 10, and will run every Friday afternoon through October.  The market, on the ODWIN campus, directly across from Ashmont Station and the Carruth building, will be open 3 - 7 PM to accommodate residents and commuters alike.

Springbrook Farm - a family farm in business since 1713 - will be one of our anchor vendors.  We are working on many more and will send out regular updates.

In addition to adding more "life" to the Square, the market will make high-quality food available to everyone by accepting food stamps and WIC coupons.

For more information, or to ask about volunteer opportunities, please call the SMAMS office at 617-825-3846.

Chef's Table Series Logo
The Chef's Table series, an interactive cooking demonstration and learning experience that takes place at restaurants throughout the Boston area, will feature Tavolo Ristorante on Tuesday, May 12, and Ashmont Grill on Tuesday, June 23 (6:30 PM for each).

Participants in Chef's Table events watch, learn and taste the food being prepared.  They will each receive a complimentary glass of wine, a free recipe booklet and the opportunity to win a special gift from the restaurant.  A portion of the proceeds from each ticket benefits a charity of the restaurant's choice, and both Tavolo and the Grill have generously chosen SMAMS as their charity!

Tickets are $40 per person (tax and gratuity not included).  Reservations are required in advance.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Tickets can be purchased on-line at
